Customer Reviews: Average Rating:

Rating : - Very good mixer for the price
I had an Imer and have one from Husky. The Husky is an exact model for less than ½ the listed Imer price. Very nice set up but there are some issues. One is it's a little high so lifting 80# or even 60# concrete mix requires more effort. Its also top heavy so be careful not to drop it. And once dropped the barrel will deform so the mouth will look like an ellipse rather than a circle since it's made of thin mild steel. No problem, it could be bend back to a circle with a hydraulic ramp. Even when I have it at the edge of the form, a little of the mix will be dumped outside of the form and ended up next to the wheels. The knock down feature is a very nice but its hard to separate the barrel from the shaft since some of the concrete dust will get in the mating surfaces (by design) and act like an epoxy bond. You need another person or some type of breaker bar to wedge the barrel out even after lubing it with grease. Be aware, as with all mixers, the 5 cu. ft. rating is for dry material only. Mixing concrete should not be much over two 80# bags or three 60# bags, which is way under the dry volume specification.

The good thing is you couldn't get a better mixer for the money. I also have the Red Lion mixer for a number of years and this mixer beat it by far. Easy to roll around, breakdown nicely (after struggling with the barrel as noted above), relatively quiet, and the motor will run forever. So far I've poured 15 yards of concrete with this mixer and I have 15 more to go for one project.
